Privacy Policy
Last updated August 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Job Search Central handles information through the website, downloads, email signup, license services, and desktop application.
Information We Collect
- Website and download logs, such as IP address, browser or user-agent, requested URL, timestamps, and download file requests.
- Email signup information, such as email address and any optional form fields you provide.
- Messages you send through the contact form or by email, including your name, reply-to email address, selected subject, and message content.
- If you are signed in when submitting a help request, the message automatically includes your account reference, account email, plan, token balance, client ID, license status and expiry, linked-device count, app version and platform, and subscription provider and status.
- Account and billing records, such as your account email, Stripe or BTCPay customer and subscription identifiers, purchased plan, subscription status, paid-through date, invoice or checkout identifiers, and payment-verification events. Job Search Central does not store full payment-card details or cryptocurrency wallet private keys.
- License and release-control information from the app, such as license key, app version, platform, request timestamps, launch/update status, and related security or diagnostic information.
Local App Data
Job Search Central is designed as a local desktop workspace. Job postings, saved items, salary notes, application stages, and follow-up notes are intended to remain on your device unless a feature clearly sends information to an external service or you choose to share/export it.
How We Use Information
- To send release notes, security updates, and product news to subscribers.
- To respond to support, feedback, privacy, or general inquiries.
- To create and manage purchases and subscriptions, confirm successful payments, provide paid access, process cancellation status, and downgrade access when payment is unsuccessful or cannot be verified.
- To validate licenses, enforce important updates, prevent abuse, and protect app and server security.
- To troubleshoot service issues, monitor reliability, and improve the website and app.
Email Signup
Email subscriptions are used to send release notes, security updates, and product news. Marketing or update emails should include an unsubscribe option.
Third-Party Services
The website or app may link to or use third-party services, including Stripe and BTCPay Server for payment and subscription management, email signup services, anti-abuse checks, GitHub release infrastructure, Discord, LinkedIn, PayPal, Interac email handling, and cryptocurrency networks. Stripe receives the payment and billing information you provide during checkout and manages payment methods through its hosted Customer Portal. BTCPay Server creates cryptocurrency invoices, tracks subscriber status and prepaid subscription credit, and provides a hosted subscriber portal. Your use of those services may be governed by their own policies.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website itself is intended to be minimal. Third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies when you interact with them.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the website, downloads, email signup, licensing, security, or support workflows, or when required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including security, troubleshooting, release control, support history, and legal or operational requirements.
A self-service account deletion request becomes due after 29 days. A successful sign-in before deletion cancels the request. When deletion completes, we stop linked recurring billing, remove the website account and its linked app-access records, and temporarily retain the account email only in a delivery queue until the deletion confirmation email is sent. Stripe, BTCPay Server, banks, or other payment providers may retain transaction records under their own legal and operational requirements.
Your Choices
- You can unsubscribe from email updates using the unsubscribe link in those messages.
- You can schedule deletion from your website account page or contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your email or license where applicable.
- You can avoid optional email signup, donations, Discord, LinkedIn, or other third-party links if you do not want to interact with those services.
Security
We use reasonable technical and operational safeguards for the website, downloads, and license services. No system is completely secure, so you should use official downloads, verify hashes, keep your system updated, and avoid unofficial copies.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the website, app, licensing model, or third-party services change. The updated date above shows when this page was last revised.
